| Moe's
Classes |
| Because
of my busy schedule I presently am not offering classes held in
my home studio but have instead found a new wonderful location just
minutes from me. This space offers the very best in light, seating,
space and comfort that is also wheel chair assessable including
an elevator to aid in transporting our sometimes ‘heavy paint
supplies’ to and from class! Better for student and teacher
alike.
Val Mann from Yesterdays Child Studio is also directing the registration
of these class so although the class listing, fee and registration
is listed on my website, the payment for such will be redirected
through the Pay Pal of Yesterdays Child Studio. Payment other can
PayPal can be done with a cheque made payable to Val Mann. She can
be contacted at 519 453-1711 or val@tlaz.com.
Note that so some restrictions may apply to a few
designs as some are new designs created for convention teaching.
(Note any restrictions in the design description of the class.)
Note that the registration fee must be paid in order to be considered
part of the class. Balance to be paid on the first day of the class.
The registration fee is non-refundable except with agreed to circumstance
between the registree and Moe Shier.
Please note that all prices are listed in Canadian
funds. With the exchange rate frequently changing I have had to
list all my fees in Canadian currency and ask my US students to
click on the ‘currency exchange rate’ location on each
page to determine the price in US funds. Note that your US fee will
be calculated the day the registration is paid. No refunds or additions
to the fees will be made if full payment is made however a difference
‘either way’ for the balance will be adhered to in the
event of major rate swings.
Please note that in most cases the ‘prepped’
surface is also included as part of the class fee and although you
are welcome to paint this on your own personal surface, you will
still receive the prepped piece that was part of the class fee.
You will be responsible for doing your own prep if you decided to
paint this on anything other than the supplied piece. Moe will also
have brushes on hand in the event that students do not have the
required brushes for her techniques. Contact Moe or Val personally
to get the brush requirements for each class.

Pet Portrait Study |
  |
This is a
two-day workshop that will teach the student how to paint their
own pet. The student will be required to provide Moe with a head
and shoulders, 4 X 6 photo of their animal/pet or may have it sent
directly to her email as an attachment. Upon registration you will
receive a write-up outlining just how to take that perfect shot
and how to send this to Moe.
This class is a study and although you will be working
on ‘your’ pet, you will also learn various techniques
to paint a varied array of animal fur lengths and colour to include
some detailed canine and feline feature areas. (nose, eyes).
A portfolio is created for each individual animal
to include the line drawing being done for you in hard copy as well
as transferred to a piece of tracing paper; detailed notes outlining
various fur/feature techniques that will be covered in class as
well as colour worksheets showing some step by step feature areas
and variations in fur. An enlarge photocopy of your animal is also
included in the portfolio.
Besides the portfolio the class includes an 11 X
14 prepped masonite panel for you, suitable for framing as well
as the use of in class paints. All day refreshments, muffins and
lunch are also included in the class fee.
Although the techniques in this class are new, it
is understood that the student have at least an understanding to
some decorative painting terminology and although it is not important
that you are good at ‘floating’…or even like it,
this class is not for the brand new painter who has never picked
up a brush before.
Just pack your regular painting supplies to include some paper towel
and show up for class. Everything else is done for you! Just in
time for Christmas, this would make a wonderful gift.
Class dates:
Saturday, June 25th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and
Sunday, June 26th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All inclusive class fee is $170.00 Canadian for both days
Registration fee is $80.00

5) Cheko
|
 |
| This
design is geared for the intermediate student. The instructor understands
that the student has a little more brush control than a beginner and
knows how to float. Note that although this surface (a 12” scalloped
masonite placemat”) is all base painted and ready for the student
to apply new techniques, the outside circle of the board is left without
colour, allowing the student to base paint according to their own
home decor. This design goes into a little more detail than the ‘drybrushed’
designs and takes it the next step further to creating a little more
‘depth’ in the fur with some newer techniques. Besides
the prepped surface, the use of in-class paints, refreshments throughout
the day and lunch is part of the class fee. NOTE THIS IS A CONVENTION
DESIGN. Class dates:
Saturday, February 12th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All inclusive class fee is $80.00 Canadian for both days

7) Jasmine |
 |
| Another
great post beginner piece here. Note that allot of base painting will
be have been done prior to you coming to class, which frees your time
to concentrate on the painting technique to include some floating,
dry brushing and creating the illusion of ‘wet mouth’.
In keeping with trying to make this easy for the student, the surface
(12” scalloped masonite place mate) all the prep, use of in-class
paints and detailed pattern packet with photo and colour worksheet
are included in the class fee. NOTE THIS IS A CONVENTION DESIGN.
